CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021

The pool bookings have been confirmed and the Swim England Licenses for a Level 4 meet have been granted so the dates for the Club Championships 2021 can now be confirmed.  The Competition will be held at Totton Leisure Centre over 4 sessions as follows;

1. Session 1 Sat 6th Nov 1330-1700
2. Session 2 Sat 20th Nov 1330-1700
3. Session 3 Fri 26th Nov 1830-2130 (NB There are no Lessons on this date.)
4. Session 4 Sat 4th Dec 1330-1700

The following events will be held in the order shown below:

• Session 1: G400IM; B400Fr; G50Bk; B50Fr; G100Fly; B100Bk; G200Br and B200IM
• Session 2: G200Bk; B200Fr; G50Fly; B50Br; G100IM; B200Fly; G100Fr and B100Br
• Session 3: B400IM; G400Fr; B50Bk; G50Fr; B100Fly; G100Bk; B200Br and G200IM
• Session 4: B200Bk; G200Fr; B50Fly; G50Br; B100IM; G200Fly; B100Fr and G100Br

Entries are open to all "Club" swimmers (that is to say, not those in lessons) at a cost of £3 per event.  Details of how to enter will be issued shortly. The event will be an age group event as follows:

• 10 and Under
• 11/12
• 13/14
• 15 and Over

Medals will be awarded to those placed 1 - 3 in each Gender/Age Group.  Further trophies will be awarded iaw the Promoter's Conditions - essentially, the more events that swimmers finish without disqualification, the more points they accrue - the higher the placing, the more points awarded. 

As everyone is aware, there was no competition in 2020 due to lock-down but our swimmers have already proved that they are competition ready through their excellent performances at the recent Winchester 50s and the Bournemouth Back to Swim Level 3 meet.  However, the club faces a further problem in that we have not trained any new Officials during the Covid era and, even with the relaxed rules in place until the 31st Dec, we will struggle to meet the requirements of a Level 4 meet.  I need parents to step forward to train as Timekeepers.  The training is not too demanding - it's a 60-90 minute on-line course with qualification confirmed by the referee at the first session.  The course costs only £5 which is full refundable.  Please let me know on [email protected] if you are able to complete this course - the more people who complete it, the better.

We also need parents to act as Marshalls - getting the swimmers organised to get to the right place at the right time for their event - and to man the spectator's desk.

If you are in possession of a trophy from 2019, please return it, in clean condition, as soon as possible.
