New Championships Records

The first session of the 2021 Club Championships not only saw 53 Personal Best swims out of 78, it also saw no less than FIVE existing records broken! First to get the party started was Henry Barker who swam the 50 Free in 30.98, replacing Lucas Perks'  Under 11's 2019 time of 34.18.  Ed Greenaway was next to break a record, this time the 50 Free Age 11/12 which stood at 32.00 and has been held by Simon Miles since 2008.  Ed's time was 29.27 very close to his personal best.  Flying the flag for the girls was Freya Long who set a new record in the 100 'fly, Age 11/12, of 1:25.77. This record has been held since 2018 by Eleanor Oakley with a time of 1:27.60

Henry and Ed were back to the fore in the 100 Backstroke with respective times of 1:19.77 and 1:16.53.  These times replaced Dan Williams' 1:35.88 (in 2015) and Mathew Sweetham's 1:19.19 (in 1998).  Well Done all 3 and let's break some more records in the next 3 session!
